... before the ferry left. We then got picked up in Sandusky to get to Toledo...
The first part of our trip is over, here are some stats:
-Approximately 1300km (800 miles)
-Average of 20$/day (including food, ferries, ice creams, and the rest)
-Falls: Marie = 2, Lucas = 1
-Flat tires: Marie = 0, Lucas = 5

Departure to the wide wild west is scheduled for the 27th of July.

Up at 6 today. Pulled over by 8:30 for being in the wrong lane. The cop was also a DOT officer and very chatty...he told us all about the foreclosed house he just bought...he also said Jp does a nice job with his log books. Detroit is boarded up, burned out, and run down. Huge buildings with no windows left...every other house abandoned.... Jp and Caleb delivered in a rather wealthy subdivision outside of the city. ... stadium for the Toledo Mud Hens which they are working on and building up so maybe if they build it they will come.


The Craig bridge was a reminder of the Cooper River bridge in Charleston. It was very modern compared to other structures in the downtown area.

Traveling out of town we found a Chick fil A. Imagine that! We also found a Costco! We were excited, especially Jim! He decided to make a run and stock up - again!!

... of that one! We spotted a Dairy Queen on the way back to the hotel, so we got a small hot fudge sundae . . . just enough!!

I gassed up the vehicle and picked up some bottled water, then back to the room to relax . . . charge all the devices, and update this blog!! On the highway we get 27 miles to the gallon with the 2010 Flex . . . even with all of the slow going . . . we still managed 26 mpg! Gas factors out to about $4.70 a gallon!

... I also slipped in a pair of work gloves and jean...by then I'll be missing my jeans.

Patrick's sister Michelle lives in Oman and that will be the first time we encounter really hot weather, I'm sending my bathing suit, cover up, shorts and a few tank tops to Oman.
