Wow, what a beautiful view from this hotel, located outside of town on the top of a hill, overlooking lagos agentina. The hotel itself is also of good quality, friendly staff.

The location of this property is fabulous. It is perched on a hill, just outside of town (about 10 minutes driving) overlooking Lake Argentina. The restaurant is pretty good. Breakfast is basic but lunch and dinner have more variety. The service is mixed some of the staff are really good, others are not. The hotel and facilities however are excellent so I will still give this property 4 stars.

A visit to Perito Moreno Glacier is a full day, whether you take the public bus or do a tour that includes walking on the glacier. The public bus leaves at 9:30am and returns at 6pm, providing plenty of time to sit and watch the glacier. We decided to do the glacier walk therefore left on the bus from the tour office located in the main street at 8am, however we really ended up leaving for the glacier at 8:45am after collecting ...

Took a photo of the retaining wall, stones held in place by chicken wire and on our return we walked the grounds of the hotel - huge, with beautiful trees etc, heated indoor swimming pool and spas, gym etc.
A restaurant bus is picking us up soon to take us to dinner - having Patagonian specialty - lamb - have to see if it is as good as ...

... than what we've seen in other parts of South America. Although majority of the houses here have metal sheeting roofs. No shingles here. Mostly because of the wind I'm thinking... We checked into the hostel, and walked around a bit. The hostel is decent. The room is nothing special, but it's clean and the location is good, and fairly quiet! A block and a half off the Main Street and downtown. The Main Street is really pretty with big trees down the median and lots of cute shops ...

... da wir weiter nach El Chalten reisen wollten. Cold nights and beautiful glaciers   We reached El Calafate in the late afternoon. After building up our tent in next-superior campsite, Manuela had energy and even explored a bit of the city. I slipped in the same sleeping bag because I was tired because of the cold that I had brought in Torres del Paine.   The next day, Manuela visited the Perito Moreno Glacier. You could watch and record a video as large chunks of ...

... day early, but found me an alternative.

I spent the following day around the Perito Moreno Glacier, which is every bit as stunning as I had heard. I went on a boat trip to see it, then walked around the viewing platform. There were hundreds of other tourists, but the site so big that it did not really matter. The glacier is 6k across, with a bigger surface area than Buenos Aires.

I bumped into two French guys who I had previously met in Torres del Paine. ...
