      Very nice property

The location of this property is fabulous. It is perched on a hill, just outside of town (about 10 minutes driving) overlooking Lake Argentina. The restaurant is pretty good. Breakfast is basic but lunch and dinner have more variety. The service is mixed some of the staff are really good, others are not. The hotel and facilities however are excellent so I will still give this property 4 stars.

... abuts the hill where we are standing so very close up views of the fractures and deep blue ice fissures can be seen. Theres a whole network of viewing platforms going down and across the hill and many people are finding vantage points tp watch for the falls of ice into the lake below. There are some minor falls while We are there, theres some interesting sounds, little creaks and booms when the ice shifts and crashes down to the lake. ...

... buy some dinner but not much more.

We eventually found out, the next day, when we again tried to withdraw some cash, this time in the banks with our card and passports (still no luck), that the government put a limit on how much can be withdrawn (lower than your own card limit and lower still for an Argentinian - that at least explains the long queues at the ATMs). We did eventually find 1 ATM in a bank that we had already tried that would allow us to take a reasonable ...

... is Perito Moreno, the largest in South America glacier. We have seen it on the pictures before but you really can't grasp how magistic it is untill you are there. From time to time you hear explosions from within the glacier causing pieces of it to fall off- a really fantastic spectacle.
The next day we took off to another remote place- El Chalten. This place is known as a paradise for hikers. We took a hike of 24 km and managed to ...

... to subside in waves and and there it was; the sound of a 'living' glacier! Initially, the powerful sound of ice cracking like a shot gun going off in the far distance, followed by a longer rumble, then a loud thunder like noise as we watched a chunk of ice falling into the water with a slow but huge ripple effect of ice and water. It was fascinating and intimidating at the same time and we were fortunate enough to witness this over and ...
