Wow, what a beautiful view from this hotel, located outside of town on the top of a hill, overlooking lagos agentina. The hotel itself is also of good quality, friendly staff.

      Very nice property

The location of this property is fabulous. It is perched on a hill, just outside of town (about 10 minutes driving) overlooking Lake Argentina. The restaurant is pretty good. Breakfast is basic but lunch and dinner have more variety. The service is mixed some of the staff are really good, others are not. The hotel and facilities however are excellent so I will still give this property 4 stars.

... One minute he was going to try and make it with us to El Calafate and wanted to sleep on our hotel floor. Literally a minute later he hit the wall and dropped off the back of our wheels! Luckily for him the halfway hotel soon appeared, no sooner had we arrived but he was checked in and on Skype to his girlfriend. Just the two of us for the second half then! Lots of laughter about Bernado's sudden crash and burn kept us going for many kilometres (serves him right for overtaking us on the ...

The scale of the glacier was incomprehendable, with the two storey cruise ships buzzing around it seeming like ants swarming around a giant meringue of crevaces and penitentes (spiked ice).   From a boat the glacier ...

... get dropped off at is very touristy! There is a a souviner shop, cafe and metals platforms that weave down the mountain with viewing points on, there is even a glass lift set into the rock. My vision of a nice picnic sat on the mountainside appreciating the glacier was nowhere near! Then as we walked down we heard what sounded like a distant firing range. People ran past us to look but they were too late, the sounds of the ice hitting the water are delayed due ...

It’s one of only 3 stable glaciers in South America as it grows by about 2m per day which cancels out the melting effects the weather has on it. It covers the whole end of Lago Argentino and every so often it gets so big it dams one of the arms of the lake for a few weeks until the lake rises to such a point that the water smashes through the ...
