Wow, what a beautiful view from this hotel, located outside of town on the top of a hill, overlooking lagos agentina. The hotel itself is also of good quality, friendly staff.

    Very nice property

The location of this property is fabulous. It is perched on a hill, just outside of town (about 10 minutes driving) overlooking Lake Argentina. The restaurant is pretty good. Breakfast is basic but lunch and dinner have more variety. The service is mixed some of the staff are really good, others are not. The hotel and facilities however are excellent so I will still give this property 4 stars.

... treat with my old golf rain gear over all the layers I have on and plastic shopping bags over my socks to keep my feet dry as my mesh sneakers aren't really the ideal footwear. At one of the photo shoots on the way down, Carlos our guide produced plastic glasses with a piece of glacial ice and a shot or two of whisky to warm us up. Snowing on the mountains either side. The Perito Moreno glacier is the only glacier that is ...

... beautiful, cloudless, sunny; a perfect day to witness one of natures wonders. A few fun facts about the glacier is that is one of the worlds few glaciers that is growing, not receding. It is also one of the worlds largest glaciers outside of the polar regions. The glacier is always advancing at 1 to 2 meters per day, an astonishing rate, which provides with some amazing glacial breaks, a sound that is the epiphany of your day. The pictures don't do justice of the vastness of ...

... but after a while, my horse followed my instructions which was a lot of fun for me but probably very annoying for the poor horse :-))))!!! One of the hightlights was the lunch break where our gaucho offered some wine and prepared a delicious traditional lunch. After some frustration and concerns as well as quite some pain on the horse, I really enjoyed this day and got the really gaucho ...

... good. We had a great guide, Luis, who was very funny and entertaining but still professional and careful for the group. After a lunch break at the base, we returned with the boat and the bus took us to our last viewing point, the panoramic terraces above the glacier. The whole trip was very well planned and coordinated, and didn't have that 'general' character of most organised tours. Can only recommend Hielo y Aventura (and ask for Luis ...

... We found a coffee shop that seemed very popular so we thought we would have a coffee. The coffees are still completely different here, not sure what they do, but they are not the same.
We found a nice little restaurant next to the hotel for dinner, it seems to be very popular. I had a lamb, sweet potato and eggplant pie and Ben had the beef ravioli, both very nice. We had a glass of red wine to wash it down.
We are off to do the 'All Glaciers Navigation' tomorrow.
