The Fly
Got to Alice on Friday and escaped the humidity; HOWEVER, I traded in the humidity for flies. Hundreds of thousands of flies. They do NOT leave you alone. So bad I had to buy a "fly veil." Didn't stop the incessant buzzing or help visibility but it did cut down a lot on the swatting and enable me to do a lot more.

The "red centre" wasn't actually as red as I thought it would be. There was sooooo much colour and lots more in the green spectrum than I could have imagined. Arriving in Alice Springs
The first day was a day of leisure, arriving around midday at the Desert Palm resort. From the drive in Alice Springs appears quite spread out and arid. I am glad I am here in winter and not the heat of summer.
