... one spotted in USA to date so she was happy.

As we arrived and left Palm Spring we drove past the wind farm on the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass in the San Bernadino Mountains. It is a pretty amazing sight with more than 4000 separate windmills that provide enough electricity to power Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley.

Three days in Palm Springs was enough, now, which way to Vegas.

... which he restrung my racquet whilst telling me a few more tales of growing up in Wpg. When he was done and only after he set the strings just right he said 'the very first hit of the ball will make the synthetic strings set and you want to get all the strings set up just right to take that first hit'. Here was a craftsman of the first order, of the art of stringing a racquet like none I had ever seen and I've been playing tennis for over 40 years.

As I eluded to our departure from El Cajon was sad but also so special. Denis calls it a very long mile from the garage door of Jess's to the street and motorhome-- really not a mile more like 100 yards maybe but you get the idea. Anyway, he doesn't look back but I always do till they are out of sight. This time we are just about pulling away and Denis sees in the mirror the three of them (Jess, Talia, and Chloe) heading up ...

... so we know where we are going and to help with the planning. The other significant purchase is a local mobile phone so we can call ahead to campsites for our trip.

We hadn't booked anywhere for tonight but were in search of civilisation - full hook up, showers, laundry and wifi. We find the Happy Traveller RV in Palm Springs which ticks all of the boxes, so we book in for two nights. Check us out being all ...

... are named after those who used to visit like Frank Sinatra Drive, Gerald Ford St, Bob Hope Drive, Ginger Rogers St. Whilst in Palm Springs super storm Sandy took over all the TV channels. We saw the evacuation orders announced and then the live coverage of the storm hitting. It's scary how vicious it was, makes you realise how lucky we are for the weather we have at home.
