1 Rue Jules Cesar Paris, Île-de-France, France, 75012
... sits on the western-most edge of the complex and has to be entered on the Rue de Rivoli. (See blog 32 for more on the museum.)
I'd gone to see the Homage to Henri de Toulouse Lautrec poster show, but, as one never knows in this museum exactly what's behind the closed doors surrounding each floor, I happened first on an exhibition of Parisian fashion by the master ...
We pushed the bike system today. You can use bikes for 30 mins for free and only 1euro for an hour. They have bike stations every 500 metres all over the city and you ride for 20 mins and then find next station and swap for another bike for new 30 mins. Of course when you stop, you ...
Paris, France buckgwHey, It's Alecia again. I'm writing some more. I also added to Sunday night's post.
We got up kind of late this morning because we needed sleep. We wanted to go to Giverny, but didn't know exactly when the trains left. When we got to the place to get the tickets we realized the train we wanted had already left. We changed our plans and went to the Orangerie Museum instead. This museum was really cool ...
... in the footsteps of authors and artists. A wonderful place to being a trip to this exciting city. We stayed at a little hotel - Ermitage - and had a room looking out over gardens. In fact our breakfast was served in the garden. Hotel owners were helpful and friendly.
Paris, Île-de-France, France smalltowntravel... up in Parris. After dinner at our hotel, we went on a night bus tour around Parris, where we got to see Place de la Concorde, Champs elysees, Arc de Triomphe and of course the Eiffel Tower all lit up. Very nice. They are crazy drivers in Parris though.
Paris, France kellynz... stuff in today, but I couldn't take any more unless I had a bike or a wheelchair. Since we didn't do much today, how about I share my first impressions of Paris with you: 1. Graffiti. Lots of it. Everywhere. I guess I was surprised by that; I wasn't expecting to see ANY graffiti. 2. Small cars. I mean small. Take a Mini-Cooper and cut it in half. The others are about the size of Ford Festivas or Dodge Calibers ...
Paris, France zyberg74... of London* and exchanged some money and took our luggage to the hotel. Then it was onto the Metro and off to the Lourve! I had heard from a couple of people who have been to Paris to not really bother with the Lourve if you are only going to be there for a weekend. I'm so glad I didn't take that advice! I loved the museum. It's almost mind boggling how big it is! We spent 3 hours there and barely stopped to really look at anything. We managed to see all ...
Paris, France ms.whiting... s to grab a quick dinner to bring back to the hotel. I had a Crispy McBacon-it was good, with some kind of mystery sauce. That evening when the group returned Mary, the lady who is the head of the trip from Stephens, Stephanie, Luca (a faculty member from the Paris American Academy who was our guide through Italy), and I went out to a restaurant for wine and dessert. We went back to the hotel and went to sleep.
Paris, France becca_boo... were listed as one of the best times to go according to an excerpt from the Let's Go Western Europe Guidebook for 2006. The reason I mention the title with such detail is so no one ever buys the book again. Ever. I descended into the pyramid right around 6 P.M. The atrium was still buzzing with activity. I grabbed a map and headed directly underneath the pyramid as instructed by my iPod audioguide. I got my bearings. I looked around. I moved up the escalator toward the Denon ...
Paris, France the_stamms... we waited around to see it. But once I got my pictures we had to jam on it...because we had no plans of missing our bus to the hotel tonight! So off to the Metro station we went. We had a nice train ride talking to some guys staying at the DLP Resort for a conference...they were from all over the world. We spent most of the time talking to a guy from China. We all joked that the train ride seemed to take ...
