... in Chamonix. On the Saturday we took the Montenvers cog railway to the Mer de Glace (France's largest glacier). Mitch loved the snow ball fights & running in the deep snow up there. ... heat is something you cant really train for in Calgary. The climb itself wasn't overly memorable and was very busy. Not sure why the reviewer of it was so excited about it. The promise of lake views wasn't upheld but the lower third of the ascent was filled with vineyards and switchbacks.
