The room was spacious and warm. We had a great view of the street below. The huge bath was a real treat.

... that is 3 slow going trucks. Getting passed
these is not going to be easy and so i simply had to sit behind.

along the way I noticed loads of diesel spillage on the road and sure enough it
          was as slippery as hell.

we headed down the pass I had to be so careful not to go sliding. At one point
while heading round a curve the front wheel let go followed by the back. It was
a mental moment and everything went through my head as the bike ...

... br> I wandered along inside this glacier and what an amazing thing it is to see. The different colours of the ice and incredible. Black ice at the bottom which has been there for years and then slightly higher is the wonderful blue layer which has also been crushed for years but not as much as the black.
By the end of this tour I am warmed up and now have to head back out into the freezing cold wind and hail. Can I not just camp inside this nice warm ice tunnel tonight?? ...

The trip down the other side of Lake Garda was nerve-racking. Many narrow tunnels where we seemed to be scraping the sides at times. Crazy drivers trying to pass in the tunnels. Out of the tunnels the scenery was fantastic but at times I was too nervous to enjoy it as it was gut clenching on the narrow road. Lucky I have a good driver who doesn't seem to get fazed out by the daily challenges he faces on the road. We hit the motor way as we decided that we'd put in a good leg ...

... taking us 4 hours all up and although a bit sore leg wise and toenail wise, we all agreed it was a fantastic excursion. Coffee, beer and something to eat was a welcome treat on our arrival back in town. Drinks at 5 courtesy of the hotel in compensation for no hot water on our first night as the generator had broken down, plus cheese, biscuits and other nibbles in the lounge complete with open fire was a perfect ending to a perfect day and a perfect few days near the ...

... system (I think I've mentioned that already). It is super fast and efficient. I packed a lunch (more like 2 days worth of food) and away I went. The trip is 3hrs with one train change. Although I did experience some anxiety when we pulled into Bern and then started heading back the way we had just come. I had my noise cancelling headphones in listening to tunes (the new Florence and the Machine stuff ...
