      In order to catch up with another friend I made in Sunderland - Hendro, I visited the remote village of Singkawang in Borneo for 1 week and Im about to share my experiences of this place.

      Firstly, I should say that Singkawang is really remote - it is 4 hours away from the nearest airport in Pontianak ( Hardly a popular place either!). Had I not had a friend here - I have no idea how you would get there or where you would stay Im afraid! ...

      The delicious smell of wood smoke clung to the heavy humid air when we awoke this morning. To use a cliche, the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
