We spent the morning at the salt mine. The tour starts with putting coveralls on. We then went on a mini train. If you were taller than 6 feet you have to be careful because there is not much headroom. The tunnels are very narrow. You start the tour by sliding down a 50 foot wooden slide to the mine. They explain how they mine the salt. There use to be a salt water ocean 14 million years ago that evaporated ...

We spent the day in Salzburg, about 30 km from Ramsau. After breakfast we headed to a park and ride on the outskirts of Salzburg and took the bus into downtown. We sat at a large table with some local gentlemen who helped Mike practice his German. We had trout and it was delicious. I had some local schnapps ...

Ross, Mike, Matt and jenna decided to ride their bikes up and Maddi and I were putting our bikes on the lift and meeting them at the top at the cafe. The cars were small and with Maddi and I and 2 e-bikes, it was a squash, when we got to the top and had to back out, ...

... to break down, especially when you have spectators and even after trying a jump start it was plain to see that we had to call for help. So Steffie made the most of her ADAC card and within a jiffy we got the jump start from the friendly yellow truck and we could go on our way. Apparently we had drained the battery by just leaving the doors open for too long while trying to cool down the car. Who would have thought?
