... a Howard Johnson's, parked and climbed into the back for a cold and rainly sleep of about 4 hours. I woke around 2:30 a.m. and headed west on some california state routes. Up until then I had already driven over a 1000 miles for the day. I pulled into Pismo a little before 7 a.m. and had a good breakfast, before heading up the mountain to the Sommerfeld's in an attempt to surprise them. That didn't happen, their neighbor saw me at their gate and called Marc.....

... it looks kind of like the tubes you float in when your in a pool except it is covered at the bottom) and give it to a guy that hooks it into this thing that pulls you up a the hill, kind of like a ski lift. When you get to the top you have to quickly unload and choose which hill you want to slide down. From the Civic Center we see several city, county, and government buildings like the Colorado Supreme Court, the State Capital Building and we walk through Civic Center Park.
