I surprised myself by waking up at around 8:30 this morning. Liam and the kids had already been up and Mary-Anne was already in the process of making little donuts. After finishing any last minute packing we all said our goodbyes and jumped into the RV. Best Christmas Greetings! We had a great first day or our trip!! Our plan was to drive from Albuquerque to Denver (which we did) but we added in a couple of fun things. When the grandparents got to our house (they are going with us!) they had a loaf of bread shaped like a wreath. It looked really good, smelled even better and was a Christmas loaf of bread which was the best. We love Christmas and we love celebrating Christmas!

... met Tim's mom, and he comported himself well--refraining from regaling her with all the tales of their dubious grad school deeds. We had a very enjoyable evening and I'm glad we got a chance to see him.

Tomorrow we're heading to Colorado Springs where we're going to tour the Air Force Academy, one of the local parks (waterfalls, rock formations, wildlife) and then take the tram up to the top of Pike's Peak.
