My last day in Sicily is a good one! We arrive at Zia Ester's house in Siracusa and only stay long enough to drop off Marta so she can help cook. ... We make it just in time, shaken and angry. We report to the port authorities, but are unable to report to police until we dock tomorrow in Naples. The ship staff are incredibly accommodating and we spend the rest of the night on the phone canceling cards and passports and trying to figure out how to arrange new ones.
