... to Durham in time for my Monday morning class, and dad went to Reading for one final day of his computer course. On Monday evening he took the train to Durham, and James was kind enough to volunteer to drive me to the train station to pick him up.

... I learn about the various cultures of the United Kingdom and its surroundings, while simultaneously sharing parts of my culture (or should I say cultures) with the people I meet.

This theme is particularly salient considering the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games kicked off on Friday. The Olympics are an excellent example of nations coming together in sport to share elements of their culture, and one has only to look at the opening ceremonies to see this in action.
