We hiked some of the Stampede Trail. The eerie feeling of the trail, knowing it was the last grounds anyone saw Chris McCandless (Alexander Supertramp) alive on. The ground was mushy like a sponge and the mosquitoes were fearless. We learned, Caribou migrate on higher ridges to escape the pests. Too many bites to the nose causing inflammation can actually suffocate a Caribou! Autumn was vibrant and the weather was perfect! ...

Today was another special Alaskan experience for us. On the way back to our room we were stopped by a couple touring with Scenic from Perth. I had worn Peter's Eagles scarf! The chap was an Eagles supporter and member and his wife was a Dockers! So we had a chat about the Adelaide game and whether he should be trying ...

... There are always going to be parts of it that are uncomfortable, inconvenient, boring - or - in this case - all three! With aching neck and shoulder already a problem, this boneshaker bus with no headrests and tatty plastic seats was not in the least appealing to me. When the driver announced that the heater and microphone were broken, it began to resemble a torture chamber. For this stage of our adventure, I armed myself with ...
