... we got up and headed into the National Park for the bus tour starting at 10am. Unfortunately the weather was not nice so the mud stuck to the windows and we discovered animals didn't seem to like the rain. 8 hours later we had been to Eielison visitor centre and back again and saw one sleeping rolled up bear and a couple of moose. ... Roses Cafe" around the 249.5 milepost. We had eaten there twice on our 2008 trip and it hadn't changed much, including Rose (although the prices seemed to be up quite a bit.) But the food was good and plentiful (including the warm "bumbleberry pie ala mode") and we called it our "Lupper" since we finished up a little before 4pm between lunch and supper.

... Caribou and even a Porcupine. Did you know that porcupines climb trees??? We had no idea until we stopped about a few hundred yards past the one that we saw on the side of the road. Rather than turn our 'beast" around we decided to walk back and get some pictures. When we were about 100 yards away another car went by, turned around in s hurry and parked right next to it spooking it so that it took off....well sort of ...
