Woke up this morning in Fairbanks & our generator wouldn't start so we decided to get on the road straight away so the engine would charge it up again. We drove about 40 miles out of Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs Resort. We arrived about 10am & picked out a campsite for the night. We are right beside a beautiful flowing creek. This place is very pretty, surrounded by hills all around covered in all autumn coloured ...

We were headed to Healy, where we were taking a Denali Tundra Tour. This is an ATV tour where you ride the Stampede Trail. This trail was made famous in the book (and movie) Into The Wild. The bus from the story is still out in the ...

Took off for Gold Dredge #8 not realizing that we needed reservations for a train ride! Interesting walk around the TransAlaska Pipeline (Aleyska) . Drove back through Fairbanks and onto Nenana for lunch at Roughwoods Inn. I had the IBS (Inland Barge Sandwich) on Ruth's special homemade bread. We bought our tickets for the Nenana Ice Classic, a tradition that since 1917 wagers for the date and time the ice goes out of the Tanana River. On to ...
