... We eventually returned to the hostel hoping that our rep in the morning would actually turn up and sort out the boat for us in the morning. 4/2 Finally, we got on the boat. We even got on early to make sure we definitely got a place. We stocked up on snacks and had an egg salad baguette for breakfast, which was a god send. We got on the boat around quarter to ten and we were off by half ten. The scenery was beautiful down the river. The drivers had clearly done the route ...
... a long 3 hours as we were shattered. When we reached the town Paweena had sent a colleague to come and meet us. I could tell she was a teacher straight away as ironically she was wearing exactly what I wear to work: grey pencil skirt, black top and cardy. She told us her nickname is Thom and Paweena's is Fai. These however, seem to be as expensive as any shops in London or Paris and ...
... helpful. I'd been told before I went that I would love Hoi An for 2 reasons 1) the whole place is lit up by lanterns at night 2) it's like a dress buyers mecca. Neither of these reasons disappointed as it was so pretty a long the waterfront at night and I came away with 3 made to measure new dresses (2 day sun dresses and one potentially for vet ball- it's a black velvet maxi- I like it now but we'll see I feel the same back in the UK). I have to admit I'm not entirely sold ...
