... up the elevator to the roof and into their home. It was soooo coool. Paul and I got to go as momarazzi and paparazi. The surprise and fun of it was well worth it. The kids LOVED it. They also got a duck master cane, certificate, rubber duck and duck cookie from their bakery. Many celebrities have done this including Oprah.

In the evening, we went to one of Paul's fraternity brother's homes to see the family and have dinner. It was such a nice ...

... that now. Then it's the 61 all the way to Memphis. And a new state, Tennessee, checked off the list.

The view on the drive was mostly farm land with the odd town and lots of big green tractors. No real views of the Mississippi River unless we where crossing it. It was a long drive and not the most exciting way for Gordon to enjoy his Birthday but I did do a few hours of driving today so he got to sit back ...

... And it messes up the crossword. Jock prints neater than his level of comprehension would suggest, Nonetheless I'm impressed at the progress he's made on this Jumbo puzzle. That's the wrong word, and that's spelt with and 'E' not an 'A". I say it with the authority of an English teacher. He looks at me twice and does his best to correct it. It's an ugly dark overwritten hard pressed letter. A blemish on a perfect crossword . A correction. An obvious mistake. Then I say, ...

... Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins had all spent time together singing and playing and creating merry music. On the wall was a photo capturing this moment, known forever as the Million Dollar Quartet. We heard music from the famous session. We were also given the opportunity to hold onto the microphone that Elvis Presley sang into on that day, and other days he had recorded singles here – it was the photo opportunity of a lifetime!
