On Sunday, Sandy had the day off and the weather forecast looked fabulous, so we took the kayaks out to Horseshoe Lake in Suggs Mill Pond Game Land. We got on I-95 south and took exit 49 to NC-53 east. In about 15 miles, we turned on to Live Oak Methodist Church Road right after the water tower and continued to Suggs Mill Pond Game Land. Although this place is rather remote, there were quite a few other vehicles here, so clearly we ...

America - what a beautiful country! As we travel east down the interstate that winds through a forest of spring green trees and road side wildflowers of red, yellow and blue, we feel so blessed to see and enjoy our beautiful land.

This trail follows the ridgeline high above the river, then loops around to follow its namesake creek upstream. I made a quick detour on the Group Camp Trail, but since people were actually camping at the group sites, I ...

... 2014 four endangered species Kemp Ridley turtles were rescued in the cold beach & ocean in Boston. They were taken to South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Rescue Program. The caretakers had their own names for them....Scabby, Holey, Squishy and Scales (named) for the injuries they had. After six months of rehabilitation they were released back to the ocean at Canaveral National Seashore and we were part of it.

Picking up the car was easy too. Once in the lot we got told that they didn't have a 'small' car for us (I'd booked a full size car which I guess is small to them!) and we're giving us a minivan instead! No extra cost! And the car is huge and amazing! Automatic everything!! Even the back doors lol. It's epic. We have dubbed it the mystery machine thanks to my mums Facebook comments, and will nickname it Scooby! ...
