The trip home went as planned and nothing very unexpected happened. Under occasional sprinkles I dropped the car , which is much easier in the new terminal; they now have an rental office outside the terminal. The old procedure was a bit strange. All the car rental desks were in the secured arrival zone. So to drop off a car, one had to go in the outdoor (posted "no entry") pass the Forex bureaus and find a staff member who would ...

From Roswell we drive to Carlsbad Caverns. The caverns are on the Unesco world heritage list, so we decide to pay them a visit. Located 250 meters under ground are loads of stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, soda straws and popcorn. Soda straws being the tiny ones hanging from the ceiling . In Europe we call them Spaghetti. Popcorn are located on the ground. The cavern is beautiful, but we saw an even more beautiful cavern in Slovenia last year, so were a little spoilt. ...

... is more of a first birthday tradition to have a smash cake but we thought it would be fun - and it was!!

The next day, we went to Mama's work where there was a grand Elmo party. It was great to see everyone. Addy really enjoyed the salami and honey sesame cashews! Had to get a really early start since our fight was pretty early. Van came and got us about 6:20 am got to the airport and checked in our selves and bags. Luckily now the exit tax is part of your plan ticket price so we didn't have to worry about that. Only hiccup was they confiscated the dowel for my hammock chair. I've started another long trip through Africa. I’m thankful that I will have good company on this month-long odyssey, which will take Daniel Harper and me from West Africa to East. We are looking forward to the trip, to visiting many church members in a number of countries who are living in quite varied circumstances.
