No great poker news to report today........the real story is the MESS this place is. We had floods in the Rhine, record temps in Vienna, and now ice storms in Mississippi. We received ice, rain, and flash flooding in places...then it all froze. It's one hell of a mess here.

Today, the Goldstrike shut down all operations and turned it's guests out in the street, as did the Fitz, and ...

We woke up this morning.....and I took Laurie to the Horseshoe for brunch. They had comped me so we ate for cheap............we ate things we shouldn't and enjoyed them very much. After that, I drove Laurie to the spa at Harrah's and dropped her off. Then it was back to the Horseshoe for me.

Shortly after leaving Nashville we hit ...

... We dutifully did the Graceland tour, which is a very slick operation that is always busy. There is a separate tour hq across the road with gift shops and buses to take you up the drive to the house (all of a hundred yards, but it means Elvis gets his own traffic lights). It's all a bit dated now, and ever so slightly tacky to our eyes, but this guy was the first to be subjected to the excesses of the modern superstar, and for all that the house ...
