... shorts, lader-hosen, Y-shaped suspenders, funny little caps with long feathers, badge laden vests and everybody locking elbows, swaying and yelling ziggy-zaggy, ziggy-zaggy hoi-hoi-hoi and drinking another beer. And we did! For a week. Great entertainment too, one of them was Lulu’s Roadhouse Band. They are awesome! Everybody in SW Ontario has been dancing to their music to for 30 years. The drummer stands ...
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada jimcabay... it was a beautiful sunny day (they’re pretty rare here) so we went on a boat cruise on the lake for a couple of hours. It was just lovely and really topped off our few days at Muskoka.
Friday we went to a neighbouring town to have lunch with Brian & Lyn Kendrick. They are a couple who wanted to exchange with us as they have a son living in Perth. They are now moving to Perth permanently next week so very excited about that. She is an Aussie who ...
... was the day before Canada's Thanksgiving so it was family day. We didn't really fit in with all the families, but it was so fun. My brother would have loved all the beer. And we some yummy German food, of course.

... of nice trendy little shops – great except that the cases are full and we still keep buying!! We drove home via the last covered bridge in Canada. We had seen some of them in Pennsylvania last trip. While we were looking at it, a Mennonite family drove through in their horse and buggy. It all looked quite unreal.
We went to Stratford on the Avon River about 30 minutes from here ...
... luggage, I'm trusting the stories are mild! :) Thank you everyone for your kind words, cards, gifts and best wishes. Know that (ironically) without good family and friends, this life change would not be possible. Hopefully we'll be able to update along the way, if not, it will be from rodeo country! .... from a girl packing her backpack in Ontario one last time
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada cdrewitz... once we had arrived at Costa Rican Backpackers. We hadn't so much as gotten in the doorway of reception when I heard "I know yoooooouuuuuuuu!" Oh no, it couldn't be. It was. I had my own version of "Valentine" whom I'd met in Monteverde and was hoping that was the last I'd see of him. But he had found his way to San Jose, unconveniently coinciding with our departure. After some attempts to get us to ask about ...
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada cdrewitz... only selling Canadian beers on draught and there were no steiners. Not exactly very German!!! It was that bad our Australian friend caught his bus to Toronto a few hours early. Still didn't stop me and the Scotsman (Andy) drinking all day and most of the night, once again we failed in pulling the Canadian locals, ending up at an American flat to continue the drinking after the bars ...
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada sd0744... of the black suitcase, surrounded by a single rainbow elastic band, to distinguish it from all the other black suitcases with a single rainbow elastic band. Unfortunately I must wait another few months before the next airport, a plane ride and a brand new adventure. Enjoy our photos and next time, spare yourself from reading this and just experience it with us! .... from the girl with the July 2007 edition of "Living Abroad" in her hand
Kitchener, Ontario, Canada cdrewitz... be on a beach. I want to be hanging out in hostels. I want to have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow. If only for two weeks. But I want to see Emma. And Calgary Jen, who I should be able to spend an evening with between family and Quebec. And Korea Jen, for that matter. It's all good. I've been dying to snowboard for nearly two years. It's the first time I have an entire week to do it. I am excited. I just wish it was Mexico for a week, and then boarding and Emma for a week :)
