    On our way to Lake Charles there are many miles of bridges over the bayou. Twelve miles before we reached the park we heard a loud "pop" and sure enough we had blown a tire. We could see parts of it flying off. We pulled over and were near a ramp so Craig decided to change the tire right there...on a slope-next to the ditch - in the wind ...

    Today was 'Day 1' of our 4 day adventure home. We left our hotel in West Monroe at 9:15 a.m. We drove almost 4 hours to Lake Charles Airport to return our rental car. Took a cab to the Lake Charles Train Station. We Had lunch on board and made about a 25 minute stop in Beaumont, TX. While enroute to Houston, we had a 2 hour wait outside of Houston because of freight train traffic and an abandoned train. The freight train folks ...
