Historical Traveler Reviews The Delores Miami Beach

I really recommend the Delores Guest House

      from

I absolutely recommend the marvelous Delores GuestHouse. I had a wonderful time there. Tons of really good looking peple everywhere. Ohhh my Goodness !!!... The place itself is not fancy, but is very nice and clean. Go to the Delores next time you visit South Beach. You won't forget it !!!...

      Cute....

      from

      Oh my God !!!.......

What a cute place, It is so pretty, iīll go every time i go to Miami Beach, i wonīt go anywhere else.

Itīs in the middle of everything. This is Like my house at the Beachīs

      BEWARE!

      from

This is an excellent hotel if you are young and party all day and night, and only use your hotel as a home base for sleeping and showering. It's awesome, its right on the strip...all the action!Be prepared to Rough It! But....if you are old and cranky and actually care about cleanliness and friendliness and clean sheets and maid service then FORGET ABOUT IT! Dont stay here, because for all the young people who enjoy staying here because its cheap and awesome, we dont need old cranky people complaining about the noise! You pay for what you get, this ain't the Hilton! I give the Delores 4 STARS for the college crowd!

      Don't even think about it

      from

This place was gross. The place is infested with roaches, we had to sleep with the lights on to keep them away. They only changed the sheets and garbage after we complained for two days, the shower was dirty and would not drain. The manager was nasty and did not care about his customers complaints. We left and got our money back after much arguing. I would'nt reccomend this hotel to my worst enemy. DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!

      Terrible

      from

It's a horrible place to stay in, very very dirty. They charged an extra night to my credit card a week after leaving Miami. Don't ever think of booking at this place.

      Roaches!

      from

ROACHES! ROACHES! ROACHES! The manager was not only rude, but also, very disrespectful. The shower would not drain, the floor was filthy, the bed had springs sticking out of it, the sheets were not cleaned, and the trash was only taken out after asking 5 times! If you stay here, sleep with the light on so the cockroaches don't come out to visit. DO NOT STAY HERE!

      Stay Away from here!

      from

My friend and I were excited about staying in Miami. When we got to the hotel we were greeted by an extremely rude man who barked at us "who is paying". The hotel staff was very unfriendly and I felt unwelcomed my whole stay. The last night we had to move to a different room where it smelled like natural gas from the stove. The hotel staff would not even try to fix it and they told me to "leave the windows open". After leaving a night early because the service was so bad they would not even refund our money and basically just laughed at us. Never ever stay at this horrible place. I still am having nightmares from there.

      Awful!

      from

BAD NEWS! We checked in to find we had been ill-informed by a new front desk clerk, and our room would only host one double bed. The room itself was only marginally larger than the bed. The bathroom door would not open completely becuase of the tiny size of the bathroom. The fridge would not close. The hotel owner was good enough to return out money becuase we would not have paid good money to stay, but his attitude was deplorable. He could care less about my email confirmation confirming 2 double beds, claiming that the clerk who took our reservation was new and that this was not his problem. Who does business like this???Stay away!

Get the real feel of South Beach!.

      from

My man and I stay at Delores every trip(4 times a year). The Guesthouse is affordable, convenient and clean. Get the back left room facing the alley. Talk about entertainment. Who needs to go out to a show?

      OK.......

      from

the hotel is alright. it's fairly small.. the best thing about that hotel is that it is close to the beach, right on the strip, and cheap!!

      The Food

Well, just like Hawaii, I started bringing my own bag of food to SoBe a few years ago to save on the ridiculous food prices and an inconvenient trip to the larger, better-priced grocery store. Of course, the market on Washington has the little additional things I need. The Tropics Hotel/Hostel has a nice outdoor kitchen and it's ...

Saturday night after arriving in Miami, we went out clubbing as one does when they are in Miami. Fran had heard that one of her favourite performers (Drag Queen) was at this club so we went and watched the shows & Fran even got to meet this great big black dude who apparently is another on of her favourite Drag Queens from the show " Ru Paul's Drag Race " she was over the moon & we both danced ...

... Once again we skipped our next scheduled stop, we were going to anchor for the evening off the southern end of the Bahamas but with ‘Lake Atlantic’ at our disposal there is no reason to sit still when we can press on to a dock and the ability to make port. 82 hours we ended up under way -EIGHTY TWO!! Had Captain Steve told me that we would run for 82 hours straight I never would have made the trip, opting for the owner’s offer to fly his ...

... a long walk along the beach before dinner. This was the night of the eastern NBA finals game 7 so we decided to watch it at a bar where they had it on the big screen. We went to the clevelander bar where all the waitresses wore nothing but crop tops and bikini bottoms and we were few of the only white people in the venue. We had some dinner and drinks in front of the basketball, the vibe in there was amazing it was full and a Monday night, they had a dj and every single screen ...

... a really friendly dude and bloody helpful. He gave me some great ideas on the things to see and do in Miami and also, where to eat and drink. After settling in, I thought I'd better go and check out what all the fuss was about. See what the big deal about South Beach was. I walked the 4 blocks down to the beach and all I can say is WOW !!! There were people everywhere and music was pumping from the bars and restaurants that lined Ocean Ave. There were people of ...
