... the foot of the Italian mainland clearly, amazing. After a lovely lunch, we took the cable car back down to the coast and a taxi home, as it was siesta time, so no bus for a couple of hours. We rested up for tea, which as usual was terrific, especially a mussel and clam dish in a seafood broth which was to die for! We go our separate ways tomorrow, the Mossops to Positano, and us to Venice, both of us flying out within 10 minutes of each other. Until ...
... about doing a "tour" around Palermo for a few Euro! After some bartering, we decided to take an "alternative" tour of the sights of Palermo. Off to the north part of the island tomorrow, so probably no blog tomorrow,as we may stay overnight up there. ...
... during the summer months, holding some 3,000 people (7,000 before part of it was destroyed ), for opera's now. The backdrop over the bay is terrific, which was a common theme will all Greek theatre's. This one here is apparently one if the best preserved examples in the world. There was also on ruins of buildings, a roman theatre and a huge man made cave where the stone excavated was used for the amphitheatre. This was impressive and was fun acoustically. After this ...
