... everywhere you look -- from the medieval, cobble-stoned streets, the chiesas (churches) and castles, ceramics and arts, to the mountains and sea!

Food, conference, accommodation all included in my 500Euros registration for the week. The food was a pleasant surprise -- each one a two-course meal of local cuisine with different restaurants. I love seafood and there's no shortage in Sicily!

... were the ones we drove on, not the ones I refused to even consider! Initially we had thought this was just TT's usual "short cut" to the main road, and kept expecting to rejoin the road system after every corner. Not so. Well, not for over an hour at least, for what took us less than 15 min on the way there. At least I kept the bottom of the car intact, though it was close at times.

I knew it would be cold out on the water but I regretted not taking my jacket (only had a cardigan) and regretted wearing sandals instead of boots. I had expected a boat with a cabin as well as being able to get out on deck. Instead we got a twin-hull boat with no cabin but a canopy over the deck that the wind rushed through.
