... artist as yet unknown and now on her 'list' and a room full of superb drawings followed by another huge room full of monochrome paintings by Claudio Ridolfi. Wow....wonderful. And then of course just another quick visit to see Bianca!!

Nearly 3 hours later she wandered back down the hill to meet Michael for a well earned glass of red and to here all about his and Liam's afternoon strolling the city walls.

... were closed for the day, or opened late, but we did see the cathedral, it's oratorio and the civic museum, where Joy was delighted to find a fresco by Reni. ... that the restaurant was only 4 minutes walk from the hotel, even in the snow.

Anyway, we duly timed a snack at the right time so we would be hungry enough for dinner but not too hungry as to be past it. Very clever bodies :-)

... we more or less stumbled upon our hotel, which turned out to be very high standard. We sat outside and shared a beer before negotiating the challenge of how to get up into the ancient walled town above.
