... a taxi here we asked if he could pick us up later. 10 o'clock had to do as that was when he would stop preying. The food was really good but service was quick and we had an hour to kill before pick up. Luckily there was a mall next door so we had a look around there for a bit. Langkawi was a duty free island with no tax so things we a lot cheaper. We were close to buying some new trainers but decided we would wait and check out a bigger mall. We had 10 minutes left and the shops ...

... elephant conservation, had told us about mangosteen, and how amazing he thought it tasted. Ever since then, we have been keeping an eye out for it. Finally we found some, and wow, yes it was amazing. A cross between a lychee and mango = delicious! It's a shame they are so small. Later that evening, I treated myself to some red wine, not being able to resist the duty free pricing. We sat out on the porch for hours, chatting away to Phil and Claire, as it turned out they were also ...

I also untangled a fisherman’s net from the reef that was damaging a lot of coral, and found another mask/snorkel combo which seem to get jettisoned a ...

... true to his word, maxing out the JetSki at 53mph (85km/h) for the entire time he was in control. I don't remember seeing much of the surrounding scenery during this time, as I held on for dear life behind him. Having at least made a start at our "overland" (over sea, actually) transport between Penang and Langkawi, our plans for continued overland travel again hit a snag as we prepared to travel north to Thailand. Whilst Jess and I had initially thought ...

Langkawi - Last Stop!

A travel blog entry by lukeandloumann on Dec 11, 2014

Actually there is not much to say about this stop, we were here in 2012 for a friends wedding and spent a week doing the touristy stuff, so we thought that it would be a nice final stop and somewhere we knew we could get connecting flights to Sydney.

Essentially we shopped... Langkawi is a duty free shopping island. We bought alcohol. It was pretty cheap.

We also went back to Bon Ton which was the resort which we stayed in for Bek and ...
