Historical Traveler Reviews Deliades Hotel Ornos
Exactly what we needed...
We wanted a small & quiet place to relax with the beach & good food. It's exactly what we had!! A spectacular view of Ornos Beach, beautiful and big room. We recommand to take half pension, the food is good, portions ENORMOUS! and Nikos will do everything to please you! We want to keep this place secret for us... But it was so nice that we feel that we have to share it!!
We have spent 2 weeks in Greece and this was the best hotel we've stayed in. To be honest, this was the best hotel we have ever stayed in, not only in Greece, but anywhere else. The hotel was magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from it. It's rated as a 4 stars, but it should be 5.
We had an apartment with 2 rooms and a bathroom (all huge) and a beautifull terrace with an amazing view (all rooms have views to the sea). Easily you can sleep 5 people in (sofa bed included in the living area).
Breakfast is lovely and is served by the pool. Excellent value.
The BEST hotel in Mykonos!!!
Hotel Deliades is located in the quiet area of Ornos, Mykonos. If you want to have a relaxing, quiet vacation, and still be close to Mykonos Town, then this is the hotel for you. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are clean (I think housekeeping came in twice a day), very spacious (my room on the first floor was), and it has a spectacular view of the rolling hills and of Ornos beach. Hotel Deliades is the best hotel I stayed at in my entire stay in the Greek Isles!!! I loved eating breakfast at the pool area with the view of the beach. The pool is not big, but who needs the pool if you have the sea to swim in, right???
Hotel Deliades is also very close to Ornos Beach (about a 5-minute walk), which is one excellent beach. You can also find quite a number of places to eat on Ornos beach, a few bars, and some souvenir shops, too. On Ornos beach, you can rent a bed for 5 Euros and stay there the whole day. You can also opt to take a caique (boat) from Ornos to other beaches, like Paradise, Super Paradise, etc. If you want to go to Mykonos Town, the bus stops at Ornos beach... fare is 1.10 Euros.
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in
This hotel was by far my favorite hotel of my two-week trip in Greece. The staff was incredibly friendly and so helpful!! They went out of their way for us at every possible opportunity. The views from the hotel are stunning and the pool overlooks the water. The rooms were spacious and bright and had enormous balconies to hang out on. I have stayed in five star hotels all over the world and have never been treated so wonderfully as I was at the Deliades. If you get a chance to go to Mykonos you should look no further than this hotel. I had the time of my life!
My favorite Hotel of a 3 Week Trip
As I have started to use this site extensively to plan our upcoming trip to Italy, I thought I would go back and review some of the places we stayed at in Greece 2 years ago.
The Deliades was my favorite hotel out of the 9 stops we made in Greece. Our room was clean and bright. The bathroom was enormous (compared to others in Greece) and was done in marble. I loved our balcony, I sat on it for hours and just watched life go by and the sun set.
Location was great, for us. We enjoyed being outside the hustle and bustle of Mykonos town and loved being a short walk from Ornos beach. We took the water taxi to Delos and it picks you up right from Ornos Beach.
Breakfast was amazing. There was a wide variety of hot & cold foods and coffee service. I, too, felt a little guilty refusing the eggs!
Staff were friendly and helpful.
This hotel is an excellent choice for those who wish to enjoy Mykonos in a quieter way. Superb!
I was quite surprised when we were given our room at this hotel. After climbing many stairs, we were welcomed to an overly large room. The room reminded me of a studio apartment with an additional one bedroom. Enough to sleep four people. There were also two large bathrooms. One with a shower and one with a tub. There was a great view from the patio/balcony which included chairs and a table.
The breakfast each morning was great and is served poolside. The staff was nice and very helpful. Dinner is decent, but overpriced. I would recommend walking into Ornos and trying one of the restaurants.
The hotel is in short walking disance of Ornos where you can catch the bus to Mykonos Town or you can catch a ferry to Paradise Beach. If you are not overly conservative and would like to try sunbathing nude or topless, then Paradise Beach is the place to go.
Overall, I enjoyed the hotel and I really enjoyed Mykonos. I would go again and would stay at this hotel again.
Now this is a 4 star that should be 5
Now being an hotellier myself...I find myself sometimes focusing on the bed side of things and tring to find the most minute detail to beach about...
well this hotel...I just loved it...beautiful in haestetics..welcoming and warm....rooms almost all with a view to die for and the most esqusit service i have ever recieved
Must stay here...And Mykonos it's just fantastic..
Great Quiet Hotel, Superb Service, Good Loaction
Deliades is an excellent hotel ten minutes from Mykonos Town by bus. The buses run every hour. The hotel is 2 minutes from Ornos Beach and the bus stop. The hotel arranged to pick us up and drop us off at the Port. Deliades is an oasis on this highly commercialized island. The rooms are excellent with a great view of Ornos Beach. They provide an excellent buffet breakfast and complete restaurant facilities. The staff was friendly and the service was superb. We will definitely be back!!!
We stayed in a studio for 4 nights with a spacious bedroom - 2 beautiful bathrooms- a nice living room area and a nice deck with views. A lot of attention to detail in the studio. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and make us feel welcome. They were accommodating in every way.
Early summer in Mykonos
We enjoyed our stay in the Deliades during the first week of June. The hotel is about 3 km outside Mykonos town--rent a moped and it is no problem getting around. The room that we booked over the web was more of a spacious suite: with a small bedroom off the main room, a sitting area, modern bathroom and large balcony overlooking Ornos bay. The breakfast buffet was extensive and we almost felt as though we disappointed the breakfast staff every day by passing on their offers of eggs! The entire staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, when our taxi did not arrive in time to get us to the port for our ferry, they took us. A great hotel on its own but their courtesy makes it memorable.

On the ship until 2.30 when we left by tender for the short service to Mykonos, one of Greece's most popular tourist islands. Here we wandered for an hour with Cindy & Mike before grabbing a well deserved beer in a cafe overlooking the famous windmills, formerly used to grind the island’s grain. The houses are all white washed pretty regularly & the streets, ...
... stand on a hill overlooking the area. Most windmills face towards the North where the island's climate sources its strongest winds over the largest part of the year. There are currently 16 windmills on Mykonos of which seven are positioned on the famous landmark hill in Chora. Most of them were built by the Venetians in the 16th century, but construction continued into the early 20th century. They were primarily used to mill wheat. ...
... a very different atmosphere at this time of the day, no music yet and even kids! No idea why anyone would bring kids to paradise beach. After a couple of hours on the beach we got the most delicious frozen yoghurt but it was so expensive because you pour it yourself and add your own toppings then they weigh it to see how much it's going to cost. I reckon they will be making a killing off it! After fro yo we had ...
Welcomed to Greece at patros ferry terminal where we made our way towards Athens, 4 hour drive. Once arriving in Athens we had already discovered things are going to get interesting, couldn't read anything! The Greek alphabet is symbols and not many things had the English translation under it, like we have been use to along our travels thus far. Ended the night with a few drinks on the roof top bar, Kelly and I embraced the culture and drank metaxa and coke! With an early ...

We enjoyed another short show with the Whyte brothers signing 50 and 60's music and then theThom Peterson magic show. All was pretty good and a nice cap to the day. Teena and I then went to the open deck movie theatre and enjoyed a little bit of Les Miserables under the star studded night.
