Alvor was a treat. Arriving at about lunchtime we went to look at the Aire which was huge open and pretty full. Parked up by the beach instead and had Lunch and LUDO had a run before deciding to go to a site. We stayed for two nights in the 'tranquil' part of the camp. ... even though we didnt go our usual early self (eight rather than seven). We planned to go back for my birthday today but I am sick. Not sure if I have a cold or if my body is still poisoned from a allergic shock from almonds three days ago. Furry ones we bought at the market. Apparently lots of people are allergic to them.

... particularly with food, as many of the dishes are similar to the food in Newfoundland where he grew up. At a restaurant on the mountainside of Monchique, Paul delighted in a cabbage pork casserole, in effect very similar to a jigs dinner. Needless to say, he was in 7th heaven!
