Yesterday we went in the car to Sagres. This is a promontory right at the end of the Algarve where the land turns north at the Atlantic. There wasn't much there, but a fort and lighthouse. We even seemed to miss the town. note way back we called in at Lagos ( Lagosh) we found a cafe on a hill overlooking the water. From there we could see where we were staying and with my new binoculars, we could even see Bill and Sues balcony!! We walked down the hill and dad spotted a team GB sailing ...

I love it because there are no crowds, no queuing, and prices are so much cheaper.

As we were wandering the streets and trying to get ourselves oriented to the town we stopped into the Igrejada Mesericordia – the church of mercy- one of the few buildings that remained standing after the huge earthquake in the 1700’s.
