... day and the first day I've worn thongs since Bruges!!!!
Walked to the beach and waded in the water but too cold to go swimming.
Went to Fife for dinner which was recommended by Peter from the hostel and also the barman on Friday night as the best place in town to get good local food at local prices.
Had an awesome meal of Sarma (mince wrapped in cabbage leaves) and Fozol - bean and ham dish.

Sunday went to market ...
Split, Croatia richlum... with him quite a bit to get him back to the price we thought we were getting. In the end, it worked out and we had a 3-bedroom apartment with a really beautiful view all to ourselves for 480 Kuna altogether (that’s only $16 each a night which is really cheap in Europe). We got settled in just in time for sunset, took some pretty pictures from our lanai, and then went to the market down the street for groceries. We cooked a good dinner ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia mdaa... the town just around the bend and there is a promenade that we are looking forward to walking along…we are also hoping for some seafood for dinner!

This campsite is along the coast of Croatia just before the bigger town of Split. Yesterday, we drove from our campsite near Zadar along the coast for a couple of hours and found this spot…we wanted something that was close to a small town and also to Split, but ...
Seget Vranjica, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia armajor7... set into the sea.

Well those were the towns and lets just say that Croatia is a beautiful country. Many a time it was I could take a photo of this and that (which I did) and just having heaps of fun. Made a heap of friends who luckily live in London so there will be plenty of catchup drinks in the near future.

Sail Croatia .... do it .... hell yes ... but maybe about 2 months earlier, so that when you swim it will because it is damn hot and not just because you felt obliged.
Split, Croatia davechowieWell most of this morning was spent below deck in bed, trying as best to sleep my way through a dodgy tummy... and exposing myself to the swamp which probably did more harm than being updeck in the (extremely) fresh air!!
Convinced that it was the chicken last night that did me in... it was unfortunate that our chef prepared ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia travellingjen... in the town square people watching - drinking a local bottle of red, reading a book, or having breakfast on our giant deck - eating yummy seafood (especially the seafood risotto, the mussels, and the Dalmatian style tuna) at a couple of very good and fairly priced local restaurants (Macondo and Alfasa) Our big highlight here was our self-directed island cruise. Hvar town is blessed with a group of small islands located just offshore. They are beautiful little islands lying ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia jenandjeffmilum... Hamilton. I continued reading Shantaram. Great book! We were home by 6 pm. We bought our ferry tickets to Split when we got back. We are definitely leaving tomorrow. I did some research on the internet and a town called Makaskar looked really interesting to visit. The lady who ran our guesthouse confirmed that it was a good place to go to. So Franca and I decided to make our way to this ...
Hvar, Croatia dinovagabond... for a morning hit of caffeine and ended up staying for a second cup. The café was on the main square of the town and inside it was packed so we had to sit outside. Even though it was cold, it was a lot of fun. As it started to rain a little we moved under an awning and watched the people of Hvar go about their morning business. Afterwards we walked along the waterfront and Jean reminisced about the time she had spent there the summer before last. The water is ...
Proxima parada: Sarajevo.
Hvar, Croatia warm... really charming. We are right by the water, with its mix of sailboats, cruise-type ships, ferries, and yachts. And there seem to be more English-speaking tourists here, by far, than any other stop thus far.] We have had a mix of experiences with the people here. At first it seemed like everyone was quite abrupt and at times downright rude, but as the day wore on we met some really nice people. Tonight a woman in a bakery called a friend of hers so she could give us directions to ...
