... and we found the service a little stuffy (perhaps close to the cliché of an old-school fancy French restaurant).

After two delightful months in the south of France, we were trying hard to keep a sense of perspective. To steal a phrase from a friend (thanks Dav), it’s a ‘first world problem’ when you’re main complaint for the day is that the three Michelin star restaurant you dined at didn’t completely knock your socks off!

... city wall, which gives wonderful 360 degree views of the city, a couple of church/cathedrals and some pretty good places to eat as well. It's a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city. One thing I like about cities with beautiful old buildings such as Girona is that they spotlight the buildings when it gets dark, making the town very scenic to walk through at night.

Picked up the camper van today after a huge delay...I guess they were working on Spanish time. We were supposed to get it at 1030am so we left Alex's house in time to get there, on the way though we got the text saying that the people who had it before us parked it illegally and it had got towed and sent to the municipal something or other. This was the 3rd stage of our Catalan experience. The first stage was forest, then farms and the plains, now coastal. Begur was a great village and we enjoyed our last stroll through mid morning as it just started to come alive. We had a last view back over the village and the castle at the statue ...
