... actually wanted to see and missed when they were in the cinema - Age of Adeline and Tomorrowland. There was something about macaque monkeys in the middle but I was in and out of consciousness during that. Not asleep, just desperately wishing I was. We also got pretzels, a good penne pasta meal, an ice cream and a pizza snack, and all the drinks we wanted, so I couldn't fault them for that. I had bought a sandwich at the airport with my €8 ...

Kristina lamented about the bad driving culture here, her comments very much in line with earlier observations she'd made about how stressed out, rude and self-serving people in Chicago are. It made me thankful for my laid-back, sun-worshiping, drought-ridden state of California.
Despite that momentary frustration, my first day in Chicago was amazing. I can't wait to explore more. And maybe even take some more selfies at The Bean.
... Palace of Versailles. It's visually very impressive and in the muggy heat, a dip in there look a very tempting option but I'm not sure it's permitted.
We slowly wandered along the Chicago waterfront in the direction of Navy Pier to do the speedboat tour of Lake Michigan, one of our wedding gifts kindly donated by Sam and Mark. We were warned as we slowly set off that there was the possibility we would get wet....and that proved to be the case ...
