... the historic outcome. Not to mention we had an internet connection allowing us to witness it at all. We have not touched much upon this subject but it is worth noting that as we have traveled around the world we have marveled at the entire world's enthusiasm for our president elect. All across Asia, Nepal, India, end (perhaps especially) Muslim Turkey and Jordan, and Europe everyone wants to talk about Obama. In our unofficial poling of the world, Obama would ...

... that had been used in stews for weeks. Beware of earwigs. And if you're going in late October/November be sure to bring very warm clothing for inside and out harvesting olives. An Ipod or some form of music is highly reccomended. He's not much of a talker.

Killing time in medieval Catalonia

The 24th of August was a day I was not looking forward to. It was the last time I'd see Ania until early 2009, as she was heading back to Poland to study and I was heading home for the first time in two years. Her flight back to Wroclaw left Girona airport, 90km north of Barcelona, around midday. I had a flight from the same airport some six hours later, to Granada in Andalucia. I was catching up with ...

... The sat nav took us around the Midi-Pyrenees which was incredible, but scary! We drove so high up that we were above the clouds, of course it was still raining constantly, and I do not love heights and wanted to shut my eyes the entire time but that isn´t sensible as I´m the driver.. :) The van didn´t exactly love the mountains either and a lot of the journey was done in second gear and took up ...

Girona 6-7 august 2007

... and rain for almost 2 hours! I still remember we was waiting and I fell asleep at Plaça dels Jurats before running through the rain heading back to the hotel since we couldn't wait anymore. Girona is my favourite city of this trip, too bad people flying with Ryanair seem to overlook the city by catching a bus directly to Barcelona. Girona is really worth a one day visit at least! So why don't you try next. Bienvenido en Girona.

A nice place..

... markets and eating it in parks a lot lately, which has saved us a ton of dough. We also have the chance to improve our Karma by giving our left overs to bums. As I´m reading this.. I´m realizing that I really don´t have any interesting stories from Zaragoza. Don´t let my lack of interesting writing sour you on this fantastic city. If you ever get the chance, go there.. I think you´ll like it.

Day 6 - more hard work!

Much better sleep (think the night before was from a very starchy rice). Still achey though, need more mileage. In bed @ 11:30 last night, up @ 9 today. One of the fingertips is destroyed, lots of tape needed. Started with 6b+. False start as tape coming off. Nice route as tape came off. Nice route to start day with. Rob tried his route first, unsuccessful so he striped the route. Took a a good while though, think I was cold again ...

Day 5 - damp

... Worked out a sequence though. Rob tried a hard-looking 7b also. Drips coming down from the start?!? Re-tried 7c+, tired. Seem to only have one go in me @ the moment. Lack of mileage showing. Sliced two calluses also, one badly. Could be a problem in a day or two. Not a particularly nice 7c+, silly crux at the top. Really just doing it for the grade tick. That's a bad thing. The big sector with all the lonnnngggg routes is wet also, think we're a bit early in the season.
