Finally left the noisy dorm room yay. Saw some massive waves along the coast towards Monterey. Stopped off in Santa Cruz, not much going on in Fall! Apparently it's wooden rollercoaster is a national monument! Got to Monterey and found a visitor centre for a map. Hotel man upgraded us to a deluxe king, had a microwave and a fridge! Watched lots of TV ...
Monterey, California, United States rich_charlotte... and I could crawl in a decent amount. "Shelves" made of roots were inside, that's where I'd keep my food. The roots almost made a chair as well...and thats a living room if I'd ever seen one.<br><br>Christa and I made some balancing rocks before our trek back down the mountain began. I had lots of trouble getting back down, switching between sliding out of my wet flips to going barefoot. Neither was great since sliding out was grip ...
Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, California, United States ktowers8604/11/2009 - Woke up in the morning, had our usual breakfast (cereal in our room out of paper bowls!), and checked out of the hotel. We picked up the car from the backstreet car park (it was still there, with all its wheels on, thank god) and headed south on Highway 1. We had initially planned to travel seventy miles or so and stay in Santa Cruz, but the reviews on tripadvisor.com said it was past its best and a ...

Santa Cruz, California, United States ktowers86... Robert Louis Stevenson as saying it's "the greatest meeting of land and sea in the world". <br><br>We managed a surprisingly early start - everyone was assembled in front of the B&B by just after 8am, and we were off. The objective was to reach Carmel for breakfast. Unfortunately getting out of San Francisco took longer than planned, so hunger forced us to stop at Santa Cruz, a quiet seaside town just off the PCH. We drove into a ...
Big Sur, California, United States jimmcauliffe... After walking 15-20 minuets to find the joint it didn't open until 3:30 (it was only 3pm) We both decided it wasn't worth it to wait so we back tracked to another pizza joint we saw on the way. Pelican PIzza didn't look like much from the outside. There were maybe 4 tables, two on either side of the door and that was about it. but the pizza was actually fantasict (it could have been that we were so hungry) but ...
Monterey, California, United States kkstafford... ale nabízí naprosto neopakovatelný výhledy. Průvodci ani trochu nelžou – prý nejkrásnější setkání země a oceánu.
Monterey, California, United States r-e-mMonterey Blog temp After a restless night dreaming of hunting for that lost wide-angle lens, I woke up early and turned restless dreaming into restless searching, as if the lens would have turned up magically over night. Predictably, it didn't. Mom and I decided that we'd had enough of the same breakfast (even if it is good) that we get here at the Inn, so we ran down the street to the Friar Tuck where we got their blueberry pancakes. Not ...
Monterey, California, United States trapp1700We decided to go to Monterey for breakfast. Monterey is, apparently, a very nice place for very wealthy visitors from San Francisco, to holiday. To me, it's the place that nearly destroyed my reputation as brilliant map-reader and an awesome navigator. We've been using the Rough Guide to California as our map book and so far, it has served us well. So when we first looked at ...
