    ... carried this precious cargo from Burgundy through the Loire Valley, Normandy, on airplanes to Ireland, Scotland, by train to Windsor, England and finally to L.A. via Chicago before setting it down in front of my mother and daughter for its unveiling. It was just as magnificent as I remember it. For now it will hang in my mother's home while Rick and I move around California and Nevada visiting friends.

    P.S. American freeways are crazy 6 lane 'free for alls' and yet seem to work; with anyone under or over taking who they like, perhaps this is the future for us over the pond..

    In terms of mileage, a relatively short trip into the outskirts of LA (150 miles) as we near the conclusion of Route 66. Not much to report as we spent time stocking up the RV with supplies. 48 Bud Light, bottles of wine and copious amounts of soft drink.....that should just about see us through the next 24 hours!!     ... heaven. By far a guy on skates with only two wheels playing a guitar with a strong resemblance of Bin Laden was my favourite. We dubbed him Osama Bin Skating. Everywhere you look there is a stunning girl its like they've managed to kill the ugly gene here!
