... a really nice little place called Aspen Over Easy. They did breakfast along with normal lunch. The food was so good and we are already planning on revisiting here when we hopefully go back for the X-Games in January.
After a little walk around Aspen we headed back home which took just under 2 hours.
We were pretty full so the evening consisted of relaxing, cuddles and ...
... also got a cool tankard too. There were a few German guys on stage playing music but there weren't really enough people to create much of an atmosphere....bit of a shame. Maybe everyone here just didn't think there were any Oktoberfests in October so didn't go!! Who knows!
Once we got back home Darren wanted to draw some more, but we didn't have a rubber or sharpener so thought it was a good reason to walk around Avon some more and enjoy the weather. The front of our apartments ...
After our first night in our new place we were enjoying just having a bed to lay in and not being in a rush to get ready.
We skyped with Darrens Nan and Granddad for a while and showed them the place then got ready to go out. The colours of the leaves are all different autumnal shades of reds, orange and yellows so we wanted to go to Vail to see them...it only took us about 10 minutes to drive there ...
I have finally reached the point where I can just relax around a swimming pool. I know quite silly to arrive at this but the last six weeks have been amazingly fantastic but really intense. It is nice as well to have time with my friends in Boulder.
I will not have made it without Theo as he mentionned on FB, 40 days, 10 000 miles, 25 states and al least 12 National parks.
Aspen reminded me a bit of Banff, cute little ski/snowboard town with lots of hikes in the summer.
Unfortunately, I did not realize how high up Aspen is (2400m above sea level) and once we started our hike at Maroon Bells, I felt quite dizzy and tired. Turns out I must have had some sort of altitude sickness at 3000m above sea level... That happened on our hike in Santa Fe as well.. well, now I know :)
I recovered quickly and finished the hike at least...
