... Mother always took a cooked chicken with us on holiday, but as some of you well know, if we're travelling on a train, we'll have a chicken to munch on. ... once again we don't want to actually give money to English Heritage and clamber the ruins, but just to get an overview of the promontory the castle is situated on. So we carry on past the entrance, a little further coming on an enormous stucco mansion called 'Camelot Castle Hotel'. Some of you will be chuckling knowingly at this point, but we had no idea. ... go to the pub for a cream tea, go to the pub and watch rugby (seasonal), go to the pub and eat amazing food, go to the pub and play skittles. Walk out into the garden on a clear night (seasonal) and see the milky way above your head, walk out the door in the morning and smell the fresh baked bread from the bakery (30 seconds away), go and buy some fresh baked goods from the bakery, or visit the local post office ...
... class that night. It was a fast weekend, but so nice, and I got a lot of information on my ancestors! I have a couple of contacts and so I am hoping that I will be able to get more information as the semester goes on! we are making progress though on getting that family tree all connected! I hope that I will be able to come back in the future because I feel like I am just touching the tip of a giant iceberg!
