... is so good at wearing her money belt though which had her passport in- we lost all our funny pictures though of Narinder Singh! Spent many an hour in the police station in Aurangabad where we posed great amusement and curiosity from all the officers.
When we checked our diaries and realised actually how much time we had left we decided to brave the cheap Indian airlines and fly south to the very tip of India .. and onto the last chapter of our trip!
We enjoyed our morning at the Lemon Tree Hotel. I was especially happy to see the cappuccino machine that actually works. Our driver picked us up at 8:30 AM for the 2 hour ride to Ajunta Caves, another world heritage site. The ride was interesting - we passed workers in cotton and sugar cane fields. The rural poverty is very apparent. Dingy small towns where dozens of men sat outside cafes on plastic benches. In between the towns were ...

The fabric is woven using cotton, silk and silver threads. It can take months to make a special wedding sari and cost tens of thousands of dollars Two older men were sitting cross-legged at the ancient equipment carefully controlling the delecate threads. We couldn't afford the hand loomed fabric, but did ...

In the process of carving this temple out of solid rock, the removed over 200,000 tons of rock. It is fabulous!. It has rooms, stairways, ornaments, and anterooms. The carving is extraordinary. Enjoy the pics of Ellora Caves.
My breathing is improving, things seem to be going very well. We leave tomorrow for a flight to Mumbai. What could go wrong there?
... justice...you really need to see it to appreciate it. Hopefully my photos will help you get some appreciation for how amazing these 2000+ year old caves are....and how incredibly difficult it must have been to carve these caves into this solid rock using only hammer and chisel's. What they essentially did was come to a solid rock face and start carving the ceiling first...so they'd cut a 3-5 foot high slot in the ...

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India nax... the second are Hindu, and the third are Jain. The creme-de-la-creme is Cave 16. Double the width, length, and height of the Parthenon in Athens, and you've got the Kailasanath Temple, the largest monolithic carving in the world. Original paint still remains on parts of the outside, and the sheer size as you walk around the temple is simply overwhelming. I couldn't decide what was more impressive, the lifesize statues of elephants, or the ...

On the way home we bought fresh fruits, almonds and glazed cherries to snack on, pixie food. Whilst buying some sweets we spoke with a hyper manic woman from Taiwan who had an Indian girl as her personal assistant and we had a rollicking laugh when she told us in the first 30 seconds of meeting her of how she had bruised her arm ...
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India inoursuitcase... at 9pm. The car was packed with locals but I had an upper bunk so I could climb up to sleep when I wanted. I set my alarm for 4am because the train route doesn't end in Aurangabad and we could arrive at any time between 4am and 6am. If I didn't set my alarm there is a chance I could miss my stop. We ended up arriving at 5am and I walked 2kms to the bus station area because I wouldn't be taking a train out of town. I arrived at the bus station ...

I got up and gave the attendent a piece of my mind. After some hotty exchange I was able to get a new sheet , turn the vol. down , get the cigarette off and turn the lights off. "Quite an accomplishment !" I said to myself and jumped into the bed hiding my face below the pillow...
