Nights out in Brazil in general are very different to Aussie nights. Most people don't head to the venue until midnight and there's not as much culture around the infamous "pre-drinks" like there is in Aus. So after a nap and a shower we wandered back to the hostel bar at around 11pm for a few drinks before we headed to privilege.

When we got there the ...

... Frio, Praia do Forte where the boys enjoyed a surf and then we had a drink and pastels under an umbrella on the beach. We drove home just in time for a late lunch and a siesta. In the evening we had an impromptu dinner of cheese rolls while sitting on the steps in town followed by frozen yogurt while strolling the

We dumped our bags and made a bee-line for the sand. The beaches around Buzios are amazing, not least because there are so many - 22 if you believe the ...

... Despite my fall...I have gotten better at 'scootering' and even drove home in some torrential rain last week with no problems. I just gotta keep an eye out for the ******* bad drivers. My parents surprised me with the news that they were coming to visit me. Back in January they had said they were going to come down...but it just didn't happen. Mom doesn't travel well and 10 hours in a plane would just be too much for her. Well, I was told by Dad that they would ...

... Sunday night I was all dressed, ready to go...and couldn't find a taxi to take me to the hotel! It took some furious dialing and imploring...but I finally managed to find one that was willing to take me to the San Diego Hotel. It was also raining the entire time. NYE with rain just wasn't the same. I arrived at the hotel and met up with Janaína, Mara and Eduardo who had already arrived and were stuffing their faces with food. We went upstairs to the dance floor after ...
