In Remouchamps liepen we door een grote grot met vele gangen. Een ondergrondse rivier voer dwars door de grot 10 meter lager dan waar wij liepen. Jammer dat we niet in een bootje deze rivier af konden zakken. Wel mochten we genieten van de vele stalactieten en stalagnieten... Toen we weer buiten op straat stonden, kon Manoe niet geloven dat we in die berg hadden gelopen: "dat kan niet, want daar staan allemaal bomen op....!"

We had the advantage the first day of starting at a high elevation. The southern province is perhaps the most hilly in this largely low and flat country. It was a beautiful clear day and the sun was out. The weather was some 27 degrees- we couldn't ask for better.

... een jeep, ongeveer 45 uur gewerkt (deels als vrijwilliger), zowat om de dag je tas weer opnieuw inpakken, behalve in m`n auto altijd een te klein bed hebben, douches die te koud of te warm zijn, soms zonder water maar bijna altijd bevestigd op, voor mij, schouderhoogte, afscheid nemen van je reismaatjes, dingen eten waarvan je niet weet/wil weten wat het is, je moeten afvragen of je bagage deze keer weer aankomt, oplader van de telefoon die kapot gaat en de nieuwe heeft ...
