      ... in an effort to escape. At Enkhuizen we left the Markermeer and entered the IJsselmeer - still freshwater and shallow. Having got very fed up with the depth alarm going off continuously we disabled it and set ourselves to keep a careful eye on the depth gauge.

      We overnighted in Enkhuizen and visited the museum - not the clearest explanation of the history but apparently the Zuiderzee was formed back in the 1100's when the sea ...

      ... and enjoyed the sunshine and the view of the palace and all the people. Nadia and Lisa arrived and we all hopped on our bikes like a gang of kids to spend the night bar hopping. One place that stood out was called Gollum where we snacked on delicious cheese and olives and talked with a young musician and his Ava Green doppelganger girlfriend.       ... 9.30am at this point, there was already quite a queue for the bus. The first one filled up completely and I had to wait a few minutes for the next one. If I hadn't brought my e-ticket online, I could have bought a combi ticket from the Arriva van specially set up for that purpose.       ... a common offering in this area like it was in London and Dublin. We had to pay for access in the library. It helped get us straightened out though and on we went.
