History, Boats and Beer!
... included in our ticket. The Heineken Company is still controlled by the Heineken family. The director is the great granddaughter of the founder. The history was laid out by the contributions of the family members. My favorite fact was that the current director’s father introduced the smiling "E’s" in the Heineken logo. Look up the picture of the Heineken label and you will see that the E’s smile. ;)

Ambling around Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a beautiful city and it offered the perfect location for a slow paced and relaxing end to our trip with Matthew and Roubs. It seemed like half of Oktoberfest had the same idea! We arrived a little weary and got a shock at the hostel check in when we opened Tom’s bag, in search of our passports, only to discover an explosion of white powder throughout!! Our minds jumped to the worst and most ridiculous conclusion… (AHHH!!... DRUGS?!?!) ...
An Encouraging Experience
... and purposes, isn't that what travelling is all about, or should be? I was also meeting up with my girlfriend though whom I hadn’t seen in nearly three months, so that too had much to do with pursuing a change of scenery.

... with my new found friends! Woke up feeling awfully fragile four hours later in soaking wet clothes, turns out we got caught in a thunderstorm.
Spent my last day in Dam trying to do cultural things so visited one of the outdoor markets and the Anne Franke Museum. All in all a huuugely successful first stop, a few photos here but more to follow when i find my other usb :)
Off to Berlin at 8am tomorrow, Hope all is well in England ...
