Today was going to be relaxing, no excuses. We cycled into
Sion and caught a train up to the tourist center of Zermatt which is famous for
its amazing view of the Matterhorn.
The train trip was uneventful and we sat back like rich
people watching the scenery go by from air-conditioned comfort. One change of
train at Visp and two hours later we were in Zermatt.

a band of debris standing which subsequently eroded to leave the formation that
is seen today. One of the most remarkably things about the Pyramids are the
giant rocks balanced precariously on top of the pillars.
From here we planned to walk around the mountain to the town
of Veyzonnaz where we would catch a bus back to Sion, as in a relaxing day. So
off we set, the route proved to be very steep up and very scenic with an

... the driver dropped us to begin the next portion of our hike to the Cabane Du Mont Fort. So we took a train from there to Sembrancher and then had to switch to yet another train to take us into Le Chable. Whew! What a day! Already it is nearly noon and we have been going and going since 10:30.....after all of that we needed to take a break, and so we walked into Le Chable for a delightful lunch at the cafe in the center of town.
