The Eiffel Tower at last!
... tower. After lunch we headed back into the underground metro and surfaced along the Avenue Des Champs Élysées. We walked in the direction of the Arc de Triomphe popping into many of the stores along the way. They had lots of recognizable shops including Banana Republic, of course. Paris in the rain - no fun
... for dinner. Also were joined by Frederique, tne CS who had offered to buy us tickets to a Jacques Brel Show. First cafe was crowded with a queue out onto the street. Next place was real character, and fairly cheap tasty food. Afterwards back to Frederiques for coffee and interesting chat about CS experiences, and NZ, as both had been there. Finally home via the metro at 12.15 am

Funny things that have happened
... were at least 80 years old, playing the clarinet, saxaphone, trumpet, banjo, and singing, they were actually really good and fun to watch.
A member of this band was this little woman who had to be about 100 years old, and she didn't play anything, she just danced. She danced about as good as a hundred year old woman can dance. After a couple of songs, the main guy introduced her: "EVERYONE, THIS IS MADELINE, SHE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING ...
Paris, day 3
Today I saw the Tour Eiffel. I don't think it really hit me where I was until we rounded the corner and BAM! There it was! Wow, just wow. I can't really say much more than that. Lunch was awesome. I picked a tiny little cafe and we ate tartine, which is bread with anything on top of it. Mine had ham, cheese, and a fried egg. It was good, but I guess maybe I'm just not made for French ...
Stop Deux
... wonderful to drive and stroll around there. It also has a great view of the entire city of Paris. From there, my aunt dropped us off at Versailles, where we spent the next few hours on a private tour of some of the hidden rooms of the gigantic palace, in addition to the usual tour. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the gardens as they had them closed off separately and we ran out of time. But, I promised Steve that I would show him even better gardens than ...
