... night with the beginnings of a sore throat. I’ve been pushing myself, not drinking enough water and not getting enough protein. I’m not eating that much at all. Luckily I thought to bring along the few doses of antibiotic I’ve been stashing for an emergency just like this. So I took one and went back to sleepy. Didn’t really feel much better in the morning so I found a McDo (McDonalds) and got the biggest burger they had, then ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France fecI think we must be ready as Josh might cry over the departure of his friend Alex. We did let everyone sleep in this morning as it was no rush. So after a lazy morning we got ready and Josh Alex and I got down to wait for the taxi. We arrive at the airport to be told that we were 30 to early to check in. So we went to have lunch and I made sure Alex had everything he needed for the journey ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France fbauchet... MEN---OMG!!! They are beautiful. More beautiful than the women. The men here care what they look like, no sweats, no t-shirts no shirt tails hanging out. Except for their pointy-shoes they are perfect. The day ended with a beautiful boat ride down the Seine River. A short taxi ride home and our new favorite Croque-Monsieur (fancy grilled ham and cheese) and our usual Kir topped off the evening perfectly.
Paris, Île-de-France, France paris09... way and we started walking. I asked him what the guard had said and again he responded with I have no idea but he pointed that way so that's where we are going. Once again pointing saves the day. Low and behold the metro was not even 50 meters from where the guard was standing so he probably thought we were complete idiots but we were fine with that. When we got down, there was a map of the area and I stopped to look at it hoping to figure ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France devinwatson... Well, not actually, but she thought about it. Seriously! Epilogue: So, I started this blog Thu night, and I'm not really sure where I was going when I started it, but I WAS planning on going to Holland this weekend, on a trip organized through my school, but the plans fell through. A girl in my class, from Russia, asked if I wanted to go, and I got really excited and said "YES!" but then Friday she said she couldn't go (I couldn't really ...
Paris, France pandabear... here, as it looks like the rain is subsiding and I want to enjoy a little more of the city before we leave tomorrow. I'm not going to proofread this, because I am paying by the minute, so you'll have to endure the sloppy prose. Sorry. Hopefully we will have some pictures up in the next couple of days. Au revior, Tim
Paris, France cantelon-polley... Two lows - and a high Day 7, and our 3rd full day in Paris, didn't quite go to plan. We had set aside today for an excursion out of Paris to visit the massively opulent Palace of Versailles, most famously known as the royal retreat of Louis XIV and his wife, Marie-Antoinette. Meg had studied Marie-Antoinette and was keen to see the site. As was I (we'd both recently watched the movie Marie-Antoinette in a sort of preparation for the visit ...
C'était vraiment chouette (yes, I have to use the local lingo!). Nous sommes arrivés à la Gare du Nord à l'heure à 14h05. Nous avons attendus pour un taxi pour environ 15 minutes (ugh). L'apartement Crémieux, ou nous sommes ...
Paris, France christian_bh... the Venus di Milo) which was just like what it looked like in the Da Vinci Codefº We saw Notre Dame and it was very beautiful but it was super touristy. It even had a gift shop inside which kind of made it lose its ambiance. The Eifel Tower was by far my favorite place! You could see all of Paris and we got there early so it wasn¡¦t very busy. There were people from all over the world! We got to see the Museo ...
Paris, France cduffy... funny to see the wives get all mad when their digital picture didn't come out and they would make their husbands take it again and again. Sometimes this would go on for 20 minutes. As the sky got darker, the tower began to glow orange from the large lights at the bottom. All the sudden, the light show started. Tons of small flashing lights like a camera flash covered the tower in a crazy up and down pattern. It kinda looked likes the lights on an airport runway strip at night ...
