What a whirlwind of the last few days. We flew to England and landed at Luton airport. A bus and two trains later we made it to London. It was a privilege to be welcomed by the Haggis family so warmly to see their loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Vi off to her final resting place. It was warming to see this loving family even under these sad circumstances and listen to the beautiful stories. ...

Our host, Eric gave us some old (circa 2008) tourist maps ...

... to stay a maximum of 3 nights. It was not really my taste, so I only stayed one night, it was in the middle of a residential area, very quiet, but I couldn't see what you would do here for 3 days, it was too far from the sea and town, anyway, the town wasn't somewhere I would want to spend much time ...

Soubise an Aire at a yacht port

left La Rochelle and made my way south, stopping at an Aire in Soubise which is a lovely Aire at the yacht port, next to a river side restaurant. At the Capitainerie I availed myself of the heated showers, had a good soaking and washed my hair. Then I got the chair out made some lunch and sat in the sun reading the MMM magazine that I had brought with me. What a glorious afternoon in the sun. A little later the village boules team ...
