After Schokland, we then travelled on to the next "island" - Urk. This too was an island until the Noordoostpolder was created. And this too has a lighthouse, this time still complete and active.

We kept taking photos as the garden was just gorgeous. Inside her garage was the biggest collection of teapots and in the middle of all that was a cuddly toy koala so we think she has a soft spot for Aussies.
just another gorgeous day. we made our way back to the village we were staying in and had dinner at the restaurant on the patio. It's a hard life.....
... in about 3.30. it was called Hotel de Stripe. It was beautiful, although not air conditioned. We were on the first floor, and overlooked the terrace café. The room is quite large, and modern.
We settled in and then went for a walk, but stopped at the café downstairs first for coffee and waffles with strawberries and cream. This was just gorgeous as we had a view of the tree lined avenue that the hotel was on, and there were lots ...
