This trip of a lifetime was to celebrate Ann's 60th. Her actual birthday is in May but this trip only goes in the Antarctic summer - December to March. Hi all, Well the first day of the trip, there I was sitting at Sydney airport still not really comprehending that its here, this trip that until now was just lots of preparing checking gear etc. I am sitting at the airport bags checked waiting for the plane. Well what a ****** nights sleep! I am sure now that the altitude (3500masl) gives me quite savage nightmares, I was thinking this before I went to Machu Picchu but now I am sure, I hardly ever dream at home but here wow. Day 24 Buenos Aires I am spending a day in Buenos Aires today, I thought that I would take the half day tour of the Tigre River delta. I was under the impression that this was going to be a cruise through some very affluent areas with huge houses on the water front, enormous boats and great opulence. Well every day is an adventure. You thought that it was over well so did I, I got to the aitport on time and the departure board said the plane was on time all was going to plan. After our complimentary buffet breakfast at the DeLas Americas hotel we headed off down Santa Fe Avenue (opposite direction to last night) in search of a Post Office. We crossed De Julio Avenue, which is the very wide road that you have seen in travel books. There are about four sets of pedestrian crossings to navigate to the other side.
