We are rested and ready for what is reported to be the easiest hiking day of the tour. It is a "valley walk" between La Fouly and Champex Switzerland - probably about 11 miles. We stopped for a break yesterday afternoon about 2k from La Fouly alongside a beautiful stream. we had been hiking for almost five hours up and over the pass into Switzerland from Italy when se fellow hikers said they had just finished eating delicious pasta at a village around the corner. Today we left the wonderful Refugio Bonatti. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed! We had a short day planned and wanted to be sure we didn't miss too much from the trail the day before after taking the bus. After a slow start to our day, we back tracked a few hours and enjoyed a hole without our packs! Not surprisingly, we found more wild flowers and mountains to capture in photos! ... a tree root and fell over the side of a steep incline. Leia grabbed him, well his backpack really, and a tree about 6 feet down stopped his slide. Again he wasn't hurt.
