... then continued our climb to the Grand Col Ferret. Leaving Italy, we scrambled down into Switzerland after our climb of 800 meters. Making our way down we stopped at la peula for lunch of sandwiches and omelettes, until finally getting to Ferret. Gav and I grabbed breakfast in town. There were a herd of goats - I think it was a show for us tourists but what the heck they were cute and they looked the part. We found a cafe that was serving half priced coffee and sandwiches - a nice surprise as we didn't find out until the bill arrived. Then we stalked up on food for the kids and headed back to wake them ...

... Val Ferret area. This is a real small hamlet with about 5-10 houses, a hotel and a bar/restaurant. Service was good, the shared washrooms were clean and dinner was tasty... Hopefully a better day tomorrow.... We've faced a few challenges on this trip so far, stinging nettle, wet backpack straps and long days, but I hope this last one is now behind us (pun intended) and we resume ...

... folded our last load we headed for dinner in town. I didn't think I was going to get a chance to have it but Sydney and I shared fondue - bread and potatoes. Yes, I said potatoes.
