We arrived in this beautiful place for a 2 night stay. The hotel is just gorgeous. Our room is spacious and very luxe. We have beautiful double french doors that open up onto a window box that overlooks the narrow street. We started our stay with a glass of wine and beer in the hotel bar before heading out for pizza and a bottle of Chianti. Strolling the chilly streets after we headed back to our warm hotel for a well deserved nights ...

Sundays are quiet days in France; many shops are closed. I enjoyed walking around historic downtown Rennes this morning in the silence and the light of a low angled autumn sun. ... meal, so quickly got stuck into the soup from the tureen, the fresh radish from Madeleine's garden, the hors d'oeuvres of meats and olives and nice crusty bread. Little did we realise there was a rather large main course and a desert of crepes to follow!
