... ham, cheese and egg with a leafy green salad and tomatoes. The main course was steak, beans and salad leaves so we ordered some pommes frites which were delicious. Dessert was an apple tart with crème anglaise, with Brad ordering some vanilla ice-cream to go with his. It was such good value and the service was quick and friendly.

Many would dream of a hot summer holiday. For me it was way too much of a good thing.
And apart from the air conditioning of the 'Hotel Skoda' we had to rely on the pool and the local sparkling whites to find some relief. Still, we found some other wonderful things to occupy our time.

Brunch, of scrambled eggs fresh from the neighbour's hens with smoked salmon, was delicious and it was made more special as it was shared with Sally who had gone to so much effort to provide local foods and traditional recipes and ingredients.
