... lived here for about 7 years after moving from the UK. We first met last year in Chinon in the Loire Valley for dinner after being introduced by a mutual friend who thought that we would get on well together - she was right and we did! Sal and David came to Australia in May and they joined us for dinner with our mutual friends, Mary and Phil. So now we are visiting them at their home.

... had a bike the trip began. The journey along the Loire river is beautiful. Full of birds, trees, cottages, and lovely old towns with stone buildings and cobbled streets. We also passed a variety of farm animals and some vineyards.
For lunch we found a little picnic area with some tables, it was on an island where another small old village was located. Lunch consisted of an entree of ghost chips (chips shaped like ghosts), a main meal ...

... smug is the correct word - and asking "now you should recognise this one Janine" - yes, of course I should - the person who hates gardening with a passion and wouldn't know a plant from a weed. But okay, i did recognise strawberry plants, peas (it helped because they had fruit/peas growing on the vines), grevilleas (picked that in one) fuschias, roses and sadly, that's about it.

... friends from Australia who were about to start their Balkans tour, but had a few days free first to spend in Paris. So I joined them and had an absolute ball! Now I am on my own again until Les returns to Angers on Friday.

I have plenty to do - just not enjoying it! It is time to find out how to cancel my lease on the flat, disconnect the gas and the internet. Hmmm - really not enjoying this at all! I have been putting off visiting the Orange ...

... of the service was in French - I was pleased that I could understand 90% of it - my time in France has not been wasted! Both National Anthems were played - well done to the Hutchins and Collegiate choirs for singing it in French! It was also wonderful to hear our anthem being sung with gusto by everyone at the ground. For the first time in a few months, I felt a little homesick for all things Australian!
